Best Superstar X-Factor Abilities for CB

The one that exceeds all other Superstar X-Factor Abilities is Shutdown, “Shutdown defenders have the talent to erase receivers from the game. When they enter the zone, their coverage is tighter and interceptions are more frequent on contested catches.”

When we assigned Shutdown to our CBs, we noticed that they have been harder for receivers like Tyreek Hill, DeAndre Hopkins, etc. to beat.

The other we recommend is Universal Coverage, “The most physical coverage defenders prevent catches from happening even when their target has hands on the ball. when they enter the zone, they are nearly guaranteed knockouts.”

Best Superstar Abilities for CB

There are a bunch of Superstar Abilities to choose from but only a few trump the rest. There is not a one size fits all approach to this so you need to adapt.

This is where we are going to give you different options for different scenarios.

First Superstar Ability Slot

Sometimes you get an auto-generated CB or find one in the NFL and you are either making them good or they are already good.

However, their stamina is really low so adding Recuperation, “Players with this ability will recover from the effects of fatigue at an increased rate between plays.” will be your way of getting the most out of your CB.

There may be other abilities that are even better but if you cannot get the most out of your CB then what is the point of that ability?

If you do not have a CB with a stamina issue, then we recommend Mid Zone KO, “Defenders with this ability force more catch knockouts and react quicker in any mid-field zone coverage, less than 20 yards from the LoS inside the numbers and 10-20 outside.”

We already have the coverage solidified so adding Mid Zone KO to the mix will beef up your CB further.

Second Superstar Ability Slot

For your second Superstar Ability slot, we recommend One Step Ahead, “Defenders with this ability generally react much faster to receiver cut moves when in man coverage.”

One Step Ahead will increase your man coverage skills even further, so not only is your zone coverage accounted for, your man coverage is as well.

Man coverage is the hardest thing to do in real life. This is why most defenses will stick to zone coverage for the most part.
