New England’s defensive playbook was a dominating playbook that was sure to help you win a championship. This year, it fell short of its former glory. It can still win you a championship, however, a new sheriff has come to town. And this new sheriff is a lot more deadly than the last. Under this new defensive playbook, you will likely destroy anything in your path. Of course, if you have the right players that can make it happen. This new playbook we are going to recommend will get you more sacks than your team has ever gotten before. On top of that, you will likely be a top 5 defense every year unless you don’t have the right players in place.

CBs should be used as safeties and your CBs. Speed is your friend in all systems that you use so make sure it is a requirement that you are looking for when picking up new players. Your Middle linebackers should be fast as well and you can even you SSs as your middle linebackers. Although, most of the time you will be able to draft fairly good speed middle linebackers or trade for them and they will do just fine.

Your middle linebacker will be a pass coverage MLBs so they will need speed along with good injury and stamina. Spend the most amount of money on good ends that can get you a lot of sacks, R.Gary on the Packers is a good option, easy to trade for, and does well in this system. Khalil Mack can break the sack record in this system with ease as he did with us getting 26 sacks in one season. He made it to the 9th all-time sack leader and we know we could get him much higher on the list in this system.

Your safeties and CBs will likely combine for the most tackles on your defense behind your middle linebacker. If you implement the right players in this defense your defense will be a top 5 defense every year. Stick to the game plan, add the right players and you will be surprised at what you can do. Just remember that simming this year is a little bit fickle and how your sim can play a big difference in how many Super Bowls you get. We will go over that at another time in another post.
