In this article, I am going to go over what are the best Superstar X-Factor Abilities for Corners in Madden 22.

You are also going to see what the best traits are for Corners in Madden 22.

Also, most people do not user-play cornerbacks, so these abilities are going to cover CPU-controlled corners or for simulation leagues.

If you’d prefer the written instructions you can keep reading.

Now, let’s jump into this.

Madden 22 Cornerback (CB) Traits:

The Personality Trait means nothing but it can affect jersey sales. That said, we would recommend that you do not worry about that.

The preferred Play Ball Tendency is going to be Aggressive. You want a corner who is really aggressive. For example, Jalen Ramsey is aggressive and he is one of the best corners in Madden 22 as well as the NFL.

Big Hitter is going to be an added bonus. A lot of corners do not have that so if you see this then it’s a plus. With Big Hitter, you can put your CB as safety and he will do pretty well.

Predictable Player is definitely a trait you would like to see and High Motor is huge especially with a high stamina rating. Since a CB is constantly running up and down the field, you are going to benefit from High Motor. If your CB has High Motor but a low stamina rating then it will affect the High Motor trait.

Disciplined Penalty Tendency; linemen and CBs are the two top contributors to penalties so this trait is something that is essential.

Some other great traits to have are Strip Ball, Possession Catch, and Aggressive Catch. If you do not have these or you only have one, it is no big deal, but if you do have one of them then it is an added bonus.

There are two Superstar X-Factor abilities that we will provide for you but there is one that takes the cake. Look them over and make a decision about what you think.

#1 “Shutdown”

Shutdown defenders have the talent to erase receivers from the game. When they enter the zone, their coverage is tighter and interceptions are more frequent on contested catches.

✔ Force incompletions
✖ Don’t allow yards

Shutdown

Shutdown takes the crown when it comes to any of the X-Factor abilities. This is what is always used when Doddery does his Madden rebuilds and have won countless Super Bowls with.

The name speaks for itself. If you have a CB with this X-Factor going against Devante Adams, Julio Jones, etc. then you don’t have to worry about them getting the ball thrown to them much or making many catches.

If you have another X-Factor corner then we would recommend the X-Factor, “Selfless”.

#2 “Selfless”

When Selfless players are making plays their teammates are motivated to perform better. When they enter the zone, all on fiels teammates enter the zone as well.

✔ Make hit-stick tackles
✖ Downs Played

Selfless

The reason we would recommend this X-Factor in addition to a CB with the “Shutdown” X-Factor is to complement each other. So if the “Selfless” CB needs some help then the “Shutdown” CB can come in and help.

“Acrobat”

Defenders with this ability will dive for increase range on pass breakups and interceptions.

Acrobat

If your guy has good stamina and is good across the board then “Acrobat” is huge. Having good ratings across the board is even better when paired with “Acrobat”.

“Recuperation”

Players with this ability will recover from the effects of fatigue at an increased rate between plays.

Recuperation

If your guy does not have the stamina but is good on everything else then we would recommend “Recuperation”. You want to focus on your weaknesses and turn them into strengths and this will do just that.

“One Step Ahead”

Defenders with this ability generally react much faster to receiver cut moves when in man coverage.

One Step Ahead

“One Step Ahead” is great to have if you do a lot of man coverage. If you play more zone than man, do not choose this and move on.

“Pick Artist”

Defenders with this ability have higher chance to catch uncontested interceptions; and they have unlimited stamina on the return (until using a special move or breaking a tackle).

Pick Artist

This is another ability we would recommend because it can be, simply put, OP (Over Powered). This ability mixed with a few others on this list will set your defense up for success.

I hope this has helped you in your journey to creating the best CB crew in your Madden 22 franchise. If you have any questions then please let us know in the comments below and we will get back to you!
