KeymasterSetting coach goals can land you in hot water if you constantly over-promise every year. It will give you an XP Boost at the end of the year if you reach the goal but it also can get you fired if you don’t reach the goal you set even if you fell one game short. The CPU does not have true logic so be careful putting too much control in its hands.
If you set your Yearly Goals too high each year, like getting to the Super Bowl, then you will eventually get fired if you don’t. You could have a 99 overall team that went undefeated, go to the playoffs and lose by 3 from a lucky play and get canned. A normal Owner would not fire you nor would the fans want you fired.
Even though the Chiefs don’t make it to the playoffs every year you don’t hear anyone pulling for Andy Reid to get fired. That is because we are not the CPU. Play it safe and lower your Expectations and earn XP from somewhere else and less risky.
