This is an all-in-all, well-rounded Madden 21 trading tips article where we go over the basic knowledge when trading in Madden 21 franchise mode. We are going to release our Madden 21 trading tips list. If understood and used properly you will no longer be stronger in the trade game. This list will make you a professional Franchise Madden player.
Check your Fanisms at the Door:
Don’t treat your franchise like you’re a fan. Why? Because fans will make decisions based on emotion instead of logic. Remember, it isn’t personal, it’s Jus Bidness. Don’t miss out on a great trade deal that would boost your franchise all because you got googly eyes.
Players come and go but the Franchise stays. There are always too many Madden players who sign dumb contracts or don’t trade out of their player’s regression.
Teams do it all the time in the NFL and they do it for a reason. Never get attached to a player just because he is your favorite in real life. Have the mindset that you will trade anyone if it benefited the team.
Trading For Contacts:
Trading for contracts is exactly how it sounds. It is also very important if you want to excel in Madden 21 or any Madden for that matter. This method will get you high-overall players while also getting them at a huge discount.
Madden has a very interesting feature with contracts that is unlike what it is in real life…and that is signing bonus.
In Madden, whatever team signed that player owes that player the agreed-upon signing bonus regardless of what happens. Whether you cut him or trade him the outcome is the same. The only out the team has at this point is hoping the player retires.
If you get charged that amount that means all other teams are held to the same standard. Use this to your benefit. Search for good players with bigger signing bonuses and offer that team a trade deal.
With our players to trade for list – along with this guide – you will perfect this method. There are a lot of CPU teams that will trade away big-time players even if they owe him a lot of money. Once you get these trades to go through you now get a great player with a massive decrease to his contract.
The team will be paying for him to play for you. Don’t worry, the CPU can go 100 billion in debt and go about their business like they made 100 billion. Another user, however, will not do so hot if they keep trading with you.
Trading for Regression:
Trading for Regression (TFR) goes hand in hand with Trading for Contracts. An older player tends to be on the biggest years of his contract while also experiencing regression. When a player starts regressing in Madden the CPU loves making horrible trades.
Julio Jones, Bobby Wagner, and even Tom Brady are waiting to be traded away for a couple of 70 overalls that show green interest. Every high overall player in your league better be on your radar.
The minute they hit 29 years old you should be giving them a birthday call every year until they join the team. Some of these guys have huge signing bonuses as well so you will have more money to spend on other players. This will help you get and stay in the Superbowl contention. If you feel you are close to the Superbowl use this method slightly more than usual. Then trade them in the offseason.
You can also trade for these guys for cheap rather than trade them away for better profits.
Ladder Trade Technique:
The Ladder Trade Technique (LTT) goes hand in hand with Trading for Regression with a slight twist. The twist is what the outcome will be. Many times you will come across a trade that you need to bring a little more value to the table to get it accepted. This is where the LTT comes into play.
The goal is to use low overall players to trade for these high overall players that are easy to trade for. You will want to use our Players to Trade for and our TFR method to perfect the LTT method. Climbing the ladder from the bottom up using free agency players and or your back-ups.
Let’s say you’re in a situation where the trade meter is close but no cigar. It would be time to use this method. Trade for an older, high overall player or a high overall player on our Players to Trade for list that is easy to trade for. Then use these players to get the trades you want to go through or trade for 1st round picks with these players.
This also works great for trying to get high overall players that you need to use high overall players in the trade in order to get.
Go Green:
This is a method that involves the opposing team’s interest in any of your players that you do not want. When utilizing this method, you will no longer need to cut as many players without getting anything from it. You would be surprised to see how much you can get for the players you see no value in. One man’s garbage is another’s treasure.
First, go to “Manual Trade” and put up three players from different positions that you no longer need. Then, scroll through each team to see if one of those players shows a green interest to a team. In turn, you will be at the quickest and greatest advantage to your trade game in order to get actual value for those players you would just release instead. You can then see what kind of trade value that player holds to that team.
Age Trading:
There are two different types of age trading. This method is, in a way, similar to trading for regression. However, the roles are reversed but you are still going to profit from the CPU and not the other way around.
- You are trading your aging player at the time or just before he retires. Or you are trading him away before he regresses too much to become less valuable in the trade game. If you hang onto these players you will be losing profit and closing the door to another opportunity. Remeber to check your fanisms at the door as explained above. Your franchise is a business, so commit to habits that is in the interest of your business.
- You will want to seek out any good aging players who about to show or are already showing signs of regression. On average, those players can be acquired for cheap allowing you to claim a profit. You will be able to acquire them for cheap and then turn around and trade them away for a high value.
Make sure you take advantage of age trading each year that you can!
