The main reason you want the St. Emil is to get the tier X Grille or the WT auf E100 – it leads to both. If you want this for a keeper then you want a powerful barreled sniper that is a shadow sniper. However, if you get shot there would be no armor to protect you.
Purpose of the St. Emil:
The purpose of the St. Emil in World of Tanks is to pick off enemies with its nasty barrel. This is all while sitting in the shadows, of course.

St. Emil Strategy Breakdown:
Think of it this way, if you are seen then you are dead. So stay in the shadows and keep on the high ground with the enemies beneath you if possible. The St. Emil has amazing maximum gun depression (15 degrees) so never sit on the crest of a hill. Also, never sit or the hill which puts you in harm’s way.
Furthermore, you can shoot enemies with ease from behind a mound, small hill, or on a mountain utilizing its great maximum depression. Always remember to never be seen!
Any spot that has cover and is away from the frontline is a great strategy. Mountaintops, small hills that protect you, or any spot that you cannot be seen.
Do not waste shots because you only have 15 rounds. So shoot when you are sure you will make contact.
The St. Emil is absolutely amazing when not detected. It’s also amazing when it can see and shoot multiple enemies in front of it.
Shells for the St. Emil:
Use 15 standard armor-piercing Pzgr. Nr. 4 shells. Do not waste money on High-Explosive rounds.
St. Emil Supplies:
The following are supplies that we recommend. Once you use one or more supplies per match you will get charged for what they cost, otherwise, you will not be charged. Make sure your auto resupply is checked on the bottom left of the consumables box otherwise you will have to manually resupply them yourself after every match. You can change these at any time in the garage if you want to play around with what works for you. You can add two of the same supplies per slot.
Small Repair Kit: Costs 3,000 silver.
Small First Aid: Costs 3,000 silver.
Small Repair Kit: Costs 3,000 silver. You need to have two repair kits for a broken barrel or broken tracks. This is so you can keep firing and repair tracks to get to safety.
